Sean,
Excellent advice. I agree with all the points and love the last one - provide 'A Great Experience' - that's the only thing which people remembers and talks about FOREVER. Also that Brings a SMILE on their faces which is a BIGGEST reward one can achieve.
Thanks,
Virendra

Love this article. It reminds me that people do not want to be "sold" anything, they want choices and information that enable them to make intelligent buying decisions. The mistake is assuming your prospective customer lacks the intelligence to think for themselves. If you can't solve their problem, it is better to provide a good referral than to just walk away.

Sean

How true.... not just in our business either. I think I'd add another - we are all guilty of assuming we understand what the client wants sometimes. Always best to re-play our understanding of what they want and double-check with them. It's surprising what this can throw up, besides showing a higher degree of professionalism.

Nice post! I am going to share it with my readers and I tweeted it for you as well.

Photographers or anyone else I think needs to have a good character / be respectful to others; my friends and I like to say just be real, be real people.

I agree with your rules. We all know the rules but forget sometimes and it is good to be reminded again.
Thank you

Hi, Sean:

I like these posts; they offer ideas to consider in raising our personal bars as photographers. I would add, in creating marketing materials and strategies, to choose what resonates with you personally and truthfully.

For those that operate from the idea that all human interaction is an exchange of energies, marketing that originates and reflects your true personality creates trust on a subconscious level. Anything else or less than the truth creates mixed signals that make a client wary because they feel and hear the falsity on that subconscious level as well. And we want our clients to trust both our creative eye and our intentions.

Love reading these posts.

Hi Black Star

I think you have summed it up perfectly. That is exactly the measues taken to retain old clients but also to attract new ones. Word of mouth goes a long way!!

Cheers
