From Gizmowatch [2]:

Do you think that having a 10 Megapixel digital camera is great…? Think again and think big. This is a 2.5 Gigapixel digital picture that is the world’s first Gigapixel Digital Picture. [3] The picture has been taken from the top of a 100 feet tall University in Deft Netherlands. The original image was created by merging 600 individual pictures from taken by 4 Gigapixel cameras. The result was a 7.5 GB image and the whole merging process took 75 minutes to complete.

Here’s a video [4] detailing the feat.

Any of the Canon EF and EF-S lenses will work with your Rebel DSLR. What will NOT work are EF-S lens systems on the 1D and 5D series Canon DSLRs or Canon EOS 35 millimetre SLRs. NONE of the Canon FD or older FL lenses are available with the EOS cameras .
