I use the M-Audio Microtrack recorder and also use M-Audio MXL 990/991 Recording Mic Duo and M-Audio AudioBuddy Package as needed.

Some of the corporations I am working with I am also training their folks how to do multimedia. So, for these I have been using Soundslides. Yes, there are programs which let you do even more, like flash, but this is a great starting point for most folks.

I think the swf file is so much better for this format than the flv file because it loads much faster and is much smaller.

I recommend starting with Soundslides and then moving up to Flash.

The reason for flash based verses Quicktime or another format is it is the most widely accepted format on the web at the present.

I agree that still images versus moving pictures is a more effective way to present an idea or story. Video often leaves little room for imagination and self interpretation. Still photographs invite pause and contemplation - personal involvement.
