The amount of time it takes to be successful is directly proportional to how loosely you're willing to define "success"

Directly related would have been more accurate than directly proportional, in my other comment

I've doing commercial photography for 16 years now. When I started, it used to be that one needs to be a "generalist" to enter the market. Today, it has changed a lot, that ad agencies are now looking at one's specialization. I am torn between Food and People (in general). Is it really possible to "specialize" in both? I'm trying decide whether to get one and drop the other. Or take on both. What is your take on this?

I am an aspiring fashion photographer. I think to be a good one, besides being connected to get yourself bookings in the right places, you need competitive prices and service, always be one up on your competitors, have the general fundementals of a good photographer such as a good eye for angles, creativity etc.
